Traffic Advisory: Night Closure of Hearn Avenue Overcrossing Oct. 3

As part of the Highway 101/Hearn Avenue Overcrossing Replacement Project in Santa Rosa, Caltrans will close the Hearn Avenue Overcrossing from 9:00 PM, Friday, October 3 to 7:00 AM, Saturday October 4, to allow workers to pour concrete that will close the gap and connect the two newly constructed bridges, creating one four-lane bridge that includes bicycle lanes and sidewalks.

Caltrans will leave one lane open during the closure for use by emergency responders.

Detours

Westbound traffic

Take northbound Corby Avenue
Turn right on Baker Avenue to cross Hwy 101

Eastbound traffic

Take northbound Santa Rosa Boulevard
Turn left on Baker Avenue to cross Hwy 101
or
Take southbound Santa Rosa Boulevard

Caltrans and its partners, the Sonoma County Transportation and Climate Authorities, and the City of Santa Rosa, broke ground on the Hearn Avenue Overcrossing Replacement Project in March 2024.

During the project, the existing overcrossing, which has one lane in each direction and a single sidewalk, will be replaced with a new overpass with two traffic lanes per direction, one bicycle lane per direction, and a sidewalk on each side.

Caltrans is scheduled to open the new overcrossing by the end of 2025.
