AAAID and Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture Discuss Strengthening Arab Food Security and Strategic Partnerships

On the sidelines of Egyptian-Gulf Trade and Investment Forum 2025, His Excellency Dr. Obaid Saif Hamad Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Board of Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development (AAAID), held high level bilateral meetings, including a discussion with His Excellency Alaa Farouk, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation of the Arab Republic of Egypt, in the presence of His Excellency Prof. Ibrahim Adam Ahmed Al Dukhairi, Director General of the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD).
The meetings explored mechanisms to strengthen joint cooperation in agricultural investment and expand Arab investment opportunities in Egypt, in line with the country's sustainable development priorities. Discussions also covered livestock development projects to enhance productivity, exchange of expertise and technology in the production and provision of veterinary vaccines and sera, and ways to provide technical and financial support for smallholder farmers and producers.
The agenda further included investment opportunities in digital transformation, agricultural manufacturing, and mechanization, as well as enhancing research and technical cooperation with Egypt's Agricultural Research Center, contributing to comprehensive agricultural development.
H.E. Minister Alaa Farouk reaffirmed Egypt's commitment to providing a supportive and attractive investment climate with all necessary facilitation and incentives for investors, highlighting the sector's promising opportunities across all agricultural activities. He also stressed the government's commitment to removing any obstacles facing Arab investors to support regional and Arab food security efforts.
H.E. Dr. Al Zaabi expressed his appreciation for Egypt's integrated development model in agriculture and food security, combining agricultural production, food manufacturing, and efficient resource management. He highlighted AAAID's commitment to expand cooperation with the Agricultural Research Center and national institutions to leverage advanced research and practical expertise in training and capacity building for Arab agricultural professionals.
He further emphasized the importance of signing a future Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between AAAID and the Agricultural Research Center to strengthen collaboration in agricultural research and development, reaffirming the Authority's intention to increase agricultural investments in Egypt through strategic public-private partnerships, particularly in food manufacturing and digital transformation, contributing to sustainable agricultural development and shared Arab food security.
