San Francisco, Feb. 3, 2026 - FedEx, the Official Delivery Service Sponsor of the NFL, kicked off festivities at the Super Bowl Experience Presented by Jersey Mike's on Tuesday with the delivery of the Vince Lombardi Trophy in San Francisco.
Veteran FedEx courier Jesse Alvarado transported football's greatest prize to the George R. Moscone Convention Center, where five-time Super Bowl champion and San Francisco 49ers legend Charles Haley signed for its delivery, marking the trophy's return to the Bay Area for the first time in 10 years.
To commemorate the occasion, FedEx launched the FedEx x NFL All-Courier, with the debut of the Purple Jacket - a prestigious honor for team members who are dedicated to the Purple Promise, making every FedEx experience outstanding.
"FedEx is honored to continue its longstanding tradition of delivering football's most coveted award to the Super Bowl," said Jenny Robertson, senior vice president, marketing and communications at FedEx. "The Vince Lombardi Trophy represents excellence at the highest level, and we see that same commitment in our team members every day. This year, we're proud to mark the special delivery by celebrating the first honoree of the FedEx x NFL All-Courier Team, as a tribute to the dedication and pride our workforce brings to each delivery."
Alvarado, a FedEx team member for over 32 years, is the program's inaugural honoree, receiving the very first Purple Jacket immediately after delivering the Vince Lombardi Trophy. The honor signifies the skill, pride, and commitment FedEx couriers bring to every delivery - whether it's a game ball or a package with life-saving medicine.
Alvarado was recognized for his professionalism, dedication, and commitment to safety over his long tenure. Throughout his service, Alvarado has demonstrated his commitment to the communities he serves and continuously strives to deliver the Purple Promise to every customer.
Fans in the San Francisco area can stop by and view the trophy at the Super Bowl Experience Presented by Jersey Mike's from Tuesday, Feb. 3 - Saturday, Feb. 7 at the George R. Moscone Convention Center before it takes the final journey to Levi's® Stadium, where it will be awarded to the Super Bowl LX champion.
