Respiratory illness season is the time of year, usually in fall and winter, when infections that affect the lungs and airways are more common. The 2025- 2026 season is already showing a significant increase in positive cases.
These illnesses are mainly transmitted through respiratory droplets from coughing, sneezing, talking, or close contact with infected individuals.
Young children, older adults, and people with weakened immune systems are at higher risk for severe illness. Individuals with chronic conditions or those who spend time in crowded indoor spaces are also more vulnerable.
Tips:
1. Get vaccinated
2. Practice good hygiene
3. Stay home when sick
4. Decontaminate surfaces
