WASHINGTON, DC - U.S. Representative Derek Tran (CA-45) issued the following statement after voting in favor of H.R. 6500, the Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2027, which will fund federal agencies through December 11, 2026:
"Today, I voted in favor of a continuing resolution to keep the government open through December 11. While this CR includes important safeguards - blocking the Administration from diverting funds to Border Patrol and halting a rule that would let political appointees interfere with grant decisions using taxpayer money - it is only a temporary fix. Congress must come together on a bipartisan basis to rein in the corruption, provide meaningful oversight, and ensure these agencies are truly focused on violent criminals instead of targeting and separating law-abiding families. I am determined to work with my colleagues across party lines to deliver a funding package that holds immigration enforcement accountable and keeps our Southern California communities safe," said Representative Tran.
