UW Board of Trustees to Meet July 14-15 in Evanston

The University of Wyoming Board of Trustees will hold its annual off-campus meeting Tuesday-Wednesday, July 14-15, at the historic Evanston Roundhouse in the Uinta County seat.

The meeting will be the first for new UW President Shane Reeves, who is scheduled to address the board at 9 a.m. Tuesday.

On Wednesday, Trustees are expected to vote on the new president's cabinet and executive vice president leadership structure and organization.

Among other issues scheduled to come before the board during the two-day meeting are annual UW Foundation fundraising priorities; the future of UW intercollegiate athletics; and fraternity and sorority life.

A preliminary report from UW's Budget Footnote Working Group also is on the agenda.

At 1 p.m. Tuesday, Chris Lowrance, deputy head of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the U.S. Military Academy, is scheduled to speak with the trustees about artificial intelligence in higher education.

A session with state legislators is set for 3:30-5 p.m. Tuesday.

The board will accept public testimony on any topics at approximately 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.

To close the meeting Wednesday, trustees will participate in a tour of the Evanston Roundhouse and Machine Shop, more-than-century-old structures that have been restored over the past several decades through a major community effort.
