Planned Road Work for Mid-Missouri…

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The following is a list of general highway maintenance and construction work planned in the mid-Missouri area April 6 - 12 , 2026. Weather conditions may postpone scheduled work. Many projects will include lane closures which could cause delays.

All Counties

In addition to the work listed below, other moving operations such as pothole patching, brush cutting , and pavement repairs continue in various locations. Motorists should travel with care and be alert for slow-moving equipment.

All work is weather permitting, and schedules are subject to change.

Boone County

Missouri Route 124 - CLOSED for a culvert replacement from Route NN to Route YY April 6, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. All properties will be accessible to local residents , but through traffic will need to seek an alternate route.

U.S. Route 63 - Bridge maintenance planned April 6 - 1 6 over Gans Creek , northbound only . O ne northbound lane will remain open through the work zone.

Route B - Pavement markings continue . N ightly lane closures are scheduled along Route B (Paris Road) between Whitegate Drive and Waco Road. The lane closures are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. and all lanes are expected to be open by 6 a.m. each morning. Work along Paris Road is expected to continue into mid-April 2026.

Interstate 70 - Median work requiring a closure of the westbound left-hand (passing) lane continues from Missouri Route 740 ( Stadium Boulevard, Exit 124) in Columbia to Route BB (Exit 115) near Rocheport between 7 p.m. and midnight as part of the Improve I-70 Program. Motorists can expect intermittent and long-term lane closures for the duration of the project . This portion of the project , which spans from Rocheport to Columbia, has an overall completion date in 202 9 . **

I-70 Drive Southeast - CLOSED from just west of Woodridge Drive to Glenstone Drive for construction of a new underpass. The entrance to Woodridge Drive from I-70 Drive Southeast is also closed. Motorists are directed around the closure via Keene Street and St. Charles Road. The roadway is expected to reopen in January 2027.**

Conley Road - CLOSED at the intersection of Business Loop 70 for construction of a roundabout. A signed detour directs motorists around the closure. The new intersection is expected to open by the end of May 2026.**

North Outer Road 70 - CLOSED at Cedar Creek, west of Callaway County Route J (near mile marker 136.6) , as part of the Improve I-70 Program. There is no designated detour, but signs will be located ahead of the closure to alert motorist to use an alternate route for the duration of the closure, which is expected through January 2027. **

U.S. Route 63 - Interchange improvements at Route AC (Grindstone Parkway) continue. This project is scheduled to continue through November 2026. More information: www.modot.org/projects/63ACInterchange.

  • New Haven Road CLOSED through early June from just east of the northbound U.S. Route 63 on- and off-ramps to Lenoir Street.
  • Lamone Industrial Boulevard CLOSED through early June where it joins New Haven Road.

I- 70 - New pavement construction from west of St. Charles Road (near mile marker 130) to the Callaway County line (near mile marker 136) as part of the Improve I-70 Program. Motorists can expect intermittent and long-term lane closures for the duration of the project, which has an overall completion date in 2027. **

Callaway County

I-70 - New pavement construction continues from Route M (near mile marker 144) to Kingdom City (near mile marker 148) as part of the Improve I-70 Program. Motorists can expect intermittent and long-term lane closures for the duration of the project, which has an overall completion date in 2027. **

Camden County

U.S. Route 54 - Pavement widening and driveway entrance improvements continue in Camdenton. Traffic is shifted between Business Route 5 and Bumper Hill Road, with one lane open in each direction, but no center turn lane. Drainage and driveway work scheduled from Whispering Pines to Panoramic Drive. The traffic shift is expected to remain in place through spring 2026.

Cole County

Bolivar Street - Set to close over U.S. Route 50 for a bridge rehabilitation project begi nning April 6. Motorists will need to use an alternate route. Th bridge is expected to reopen to traffic in mid-August.

U.S. Route 50 - CLOSED from 9 p.m. April 10 through 9 p.m. April 12 for b ridge removal at the interchange with U.S. Route 54/63 ( trilevel ) in Jefferson City . In addition, multiple ramps at the trilevel will be CLOSED throughout the demolition. The following roadways and ramps will be closed:

  • U.S. Route 50 from Dix Road to Business Route 50 (Missouri Boulevard).
  • Ramp from Dix Road to eastbound U.S. Route 50.
  • East and westbound U.S. Route 50 ramps to east and westbound U.S. Route 54.
  • Westbound U.S. Route 54 ramp to eastbound U.S. Route 50.
  • Eastbound U.S. Route 54 ramps to U.S. Route 50.

Cooper County

I-70 - Median work for n ew pavement construction continues from Missouri Route 5 in Boonville (mile marker 101) to the Missouri River Bridge at Rocheport (mile marker 115) as part of the Improve I-70 Program. Motorists can expect intermittent overnight lane closures in both directions between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. with an 11-foot width restriction. This portion of the Improve I-70 Program has an overall completion date in 2027. **

Crawford County

Missouri Route 19 - Culvert replacement planned April 6 - 9 from Route TT (Dent County) to Route VV. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Missouri Route 49 - Bridge maintenance planned April 6 - 9 over Huzzah Creek. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Route PP - Roadside work planned April 6 - 9 from Industrial Drive to Vine Street in Cuba . One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Route ZZ - Diamond grinding planned April 6 - 9 . One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Dent County

Route 19 - Culvert replacement planned April 6 - 9 from Route TT to Route VV (Crawford County). One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Route W - Pothole patching planned April 6 - 8 . One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Route EE - Pothole patching planned April 8 - 9. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Route B - CLOSED at the bridge over Dry Creek due to deterioration near one of the supporting structures. Motorist s may use Missouri Routes 19, 32 and 72 as detoured routes around the closure. A project to replace the bridge is scheduled to be completed this year.

Howard County

Route 5 - Roadside work planned April 6 - 9 from Route DD to U.S. Route 40. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Missouri Route 124 - CLOSED for a culvert replacement from County Road 405 to Route A April 7 , 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. All properties will be accessible to local residents , but through traffic will need to seek an alternate route. This work will also restrict access to and from Route 124 at County Road 105.

Route H - Bridge maintenance planned April 7 - 16 over Salt Fork. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Route Y - Culvert replacement planned April 6 - 9 . One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Laclede County

Route N - CLOSED for c ulvert replacements in multiple locations , April 6 - 8, 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. All properties will be accessible to local residents , but through traffic will need to seek an alternate route.

Route O - Shoulder work planned April 6 - 9. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Maries County

Routes H and M - Culvert replacements planned April 6 - 9 . One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zones.

Missouri Route 42 - CLOSED for a bridge deck replacement project over the Maries River. A signed detour is in place to direct motorist around the closure. The project is scheduled for completion in May 2026. (The Fly Creek Bridge on Route 42 will close soon after the Maries River Bridge reopens. The Fly Creek Bridge will remain closed through August 2026.)

Miller County

Route U - CLOSED for a c ulvert replacement 0.2 miles west of Route EE , April 7, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. All properties will be accessible to local residents , but through traffic will need to seek an alternate route.

Phelps County

Route T - Culvert replacement planned April 6 - 9 from Route P to County Road 7490. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

U.S. Route 63 - Shoulder work planned April 8 - 9 from Kingshighway to 2 nd Street , s outhbound only. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Missouri Route 72 - Pedestrian facility upgrades continue in Rolla. Work will require temporary closures of pedestrian facilities and intermittent single-lane closures with flaggers to direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in April 2026.

Route J - CLOS ING April 6 for bridge rehabilitation over I-44. The on- and off- ramps at this overpass (Exit 169) will remain open and a signed detour will be in place. The project is scheduled for completion in June 2026.

Business Loop 44/Route 72/ Kingshighway - B ridge rehabilitation project over I-44 continues , o ne eastbound lane will remain open. The bridge is CLOSE D to all westbound traffic, and a signed detour is in place. The project is scheduled for completion in July 2026.

County Road 8490 (Sugar Creek Road) - CLOSED for bridge rehabilitation over I-44. The on- and off-ramps at this overpass (Exit 176) will remain open and a signed detour is in place. The project is scheduled for completion in May 2026.

Pulaski County

Missouri Route 28 - Culvert replacement planned April 6 - 9 at Chestnut Street . One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Missouri Route 17 - Pedestrian facility upgrades continue in Waynesville from Summit Avenue to Lynn Street . Work will require temporary closures of pedestrian facilities and intermittent single-lane closures with flaggers to direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in April 2026.

I-44 - A pavement widening project from just east of Exit 156 in Waynesville to Exit 159 in St. Robert is underway . Motorists can expect intermittent nighttime lane closures in both directions and intermittent daytime rolling roadblocks and ramp closures from Exit 169 to Exit 150. The project has an overall completion date in 2027.

Washington County

Route s CC and E - Pothole patching planned April 6 - 9 . One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone s .

Route 8 - Bridge rehabilitation over the Union Pacific Railroad. The roadway will remain open throughout the project but is narrowed to one lane. Motorists should expect delays. The project is scheduled for complet ion in June 2026.

Route T - Culvert rehabilitation at Big Indian Creek near Potosi continues . Minimal traffic impacts are expected during the project which is expected to be completed by July 1, 2026.
