The SCO Secretariat delegation takes part in the opening of the “two sessions” in China

On March 4-5, 2026, the 4th session of the 14th National People's Congress of the People's Political Consultative Conference of China and the 4th session of the 14th National People's Congress of the People's Representative Council were held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. The event was attended by President Xi Jinping and other high-ranking party and government leaders of the country.

Reports on the work of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and the Chinese government were presented to the delegates of the sessions. Premier Li Qiang of the State Council of the People's Republic of China in his report praised the results of the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the SCO in Tianjin in September 2025 and thanked international partners for their support of China's modernization process.

At the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, the SCO was represented at the event by Deputy Secretary-General T.R. Midhun.
