Including dividends, Verisk Analytics (VRSK) stock lost 13.4% over the past year, while the S&P 500 gained 15.1%. At $203.33, the shares are back near a price where buyers stepped in before. Buyers returning now may be betting on Verisk's subscription sales, which made up 83% of revenue in the second quarter of fiscal 2026. So how well has this price held for Verisk in the past?
Has Verisk Stock Bounced From This Price Before?
Yes, more than once since mid-2021. The stock climbed 21.1% within 112 days from $189.94 on July 30, 2021, and 33.6% within 316 days from $187.69 on March 28, 2023. Both of those starts sit about 7% to 8% below today's price, under the $193.16 level where support counts as broken. A visit to $205.76 that May came during the same rally, which went on to the same $250.66 high, a 21.8% rise from that price within 279 days.
The last two years look different: in the two years to October 22, 2026, the shares visited this price twice, and both times they fell 5% before rising 20%. The October 2025 visit at $208 ended with the shares at $192.49 in February 2026. During the March 2026 visit, the shares fell 5% within a week. Buyers have defended this price over the long run, but not during the two most recent visits.
Your $10,000 In Verisk Stock At Resistance
A $10,000 investment in Verisk stock today would be worth about $12,370 if the shares reached resistance at $251.51, where an earlier rally stalled. The typical past bounce from this price would have grown that investment to $12,180. Reaching resistance would take a little more than the typical past bounce delivered.
Two lower resistance levels sit in the way: rallies stalled twice at $214.37, just above today's price, and twice more at $224.97.
| Level | Price | From today |
|---|---|---|
| Resistance: a rally stalled here once | $251.51 | 23.7% higher |
| Today | $203.33 | Reference price |
| Support is broken below | $193.16 | 5.0% lower |
| Next support below | $175.62 | 13.6% lower |
Are Verisk's Subscriptions Growing Enough To Back A Bounce?
Verisk's subscriptions are still growing, but the company as a whole is expanding slower than its recent average. Revenue rose 5.0% over the twelve months to June 2026, compared with an average of 6.9% over the last three such twelve-month periods.
The split matters. Management said on the July 29 call that subscription sales grew 8% in the second quarter of fiscal 2026, excluding acquisitions and currency swings. Transaction sales fell 4.2% on the same basis. Profit held up: Verisk's operating margin was 43.9% over the last twelve months, the same as a year earlier.
The stock was also cheap against its own past at mid-year. At the end of June, Verisk's P/E was 26.5, lower than at all but five quarter-ends since late 2016. By the October 22 close, it had risen to 30.0.
What Could Break Verisk's Support?
Transaction sales are where the risk sits. Management said on the July 29 call that a slow start to the hurricane season could keep pressure on those sales in the second half of 2026, and that lower commercial property volumes could persist. Debt has also climbed, reaching $4.62 billion at the end of June from $3.43 billion a year earlier.
Support counts as broken below $193.16. Under that, the next support sits at $175.62, 13.6% below today's price.
Buyers lifted Verisk stock from this price in 2021 and 2023, but not during its two visits since October 2025, while its subscription sales kept growing in fiscal Q2 2026. Growth in those subscription sales is the number to watch when Verisk next reports.
