Highlights of the March 2026 Board Meeting

April 8, 2026

Executive Director Transition Begins

Following the retirement announcement of IMRF Executive Director Brian Collins, the Board of Trustees at its March meeting retained CBIZ - a nationwide executive search firm - to aid in the selection of the next executive director. At its March meeting, the Board also named IMRF General Counsel Vlad Shuliga to serve as Interim Executive Director during the search.

At its meeting, the Board passed a Resolution of Appreciation honoring Collins who served IMRF for more than eight years.


"I am honored to present you this resolution," Board President Doug Cycholl told Collins. "I'm sad to see you go but feel confident that Vlad will continue the progress that you started."

Board Approves New Commitments and Adjustments to Investment Policies

The Board approved commitments of up to $170 million to the alternatives asset class, as well as adjustments to its Strategic Asset Allocation Policy, Investment Committee Charter and Statement of Investment Policy for 2026.

The Board approved the participation of the following new employers:

  • Southland Communications Center
  • Village of Dawson

Next Board Meeting

The next regularly scheduled board meeting will be held Friday, May 29, at 9 AM at IMRF's Oak Brook office.
