Crowell & Moring Names Caroline Stevens Chief Practice Management Officer

London - January 9, 2026: Crowell & Moring has elevated Caroline Stevens to serve as Chief Practice Management Officer. In her new role, Stevens oversees the strategic direction and operational effectiveness of the firm's practice management, practice support, and practice technology functions. She works closely with practice group leaders and firm leadership to design and implement strategies to drive efficient legal service delivery and ensure alignment with client priorities and firm-wide objectives. Stevens becomes Crowell's first chief officer based outside the U.S., a reflection of the firm's international growth.

Stevens, who is resident in the firm's London office, previously served as Senior Director of Talent and Business Operations, where she played a key role in developing and implementing the firm's successful U.K. growth strategy. Caroline is also expected to spend time working in the U.S. as part of her responsibilities. Over the past six years, Crowell's London office has quadrupled in size and now has more than 60 lawyers and staff. Stevens has built a scalable and effective business services team tailored to a rapidly expanding UK-based legal practice, worked with Office Managing Partner Robert Weekes to expand offerings to meet client needs, and oversaw the London office move to new space at 199 Bishopsgate in June of 2025.

Before joining Crowell in 2019, Stevens held a leadership role at Squire Patton Boggs where she was responsible for working with practice group leaders in multiple international jurisdictions to develop and deliver effective resourcing strategies. Prior to transitioning into law firm management, Caroline spent time as an English-law-qualified Solicitor in London and in Mexico City, having trained at a leading London "magic circle" law firm.

Stevens joins a chief executive team led by Palermo that includes Chief Innovation & Value Officer Alma Asay; Chief Human Resources Officer Carmen C. Barboza; Chief Marketing Officer Maura Connell Brandt; Chief Financial Officer Mark Fenoughty; Chief Information Officer Joel Gustafson; and Chief Talent & Inclusion Officer Don Smith.
