Shannon Reid highlights how Osaic's range of RIA affiliation models gives advisors greater choice, flexibility and continuity as their businesses evolve.
As more broker-dealers make their way into the increasingly competitive registered investment advisory space, Osaic's president and head of advisor growth spoke to Financial Advisor IQ about how the firm's various RIA affiliation models compare to other options in the market.
Shannon Reid, in an interview with FA-IQ last week, noted that advisors may consider an RIA affiliation model at a broker-dealer rather than joining a large RIA aggregator to avoid the possibility of ending up under different ownership later.
She said that Osaic's scale and size lessens the likelihood that it could be absorbed by another firm.
"The biggest independent firm is LPL. LPL could not absorb a firm the size of Osaic. Nor can a firm like Raymond James. It's just a totally different scale, and they're probably the two biggest, most well-capitalized [firms] in the industry," Reid said.
