The MECU Foundation is ready to take another swing at giving back as it prepares for the 20th Annual Charity Cup Golf Tournament, returning to Pine Ridge Golf Course in Timonium, Ma., on Friday, September 25, 2026. This event marks a significant milestone, celebrating two decades of community impact.
What started in 2006 as a community fundraiser has grown into one of the Foundation's most meaningful traditions. It unites business partners, volunteers, members, and community leaders to support education and financial literacy initiatives throughout Baltimore. Over the past twenty years, the tournament has raised more than $800,000 for scholarships, after-school programs, and organizations dedicated to helping local students succeed.
"Reaching our twentieth tournament is an incredible milestone for the MECU Foundation," said Roman Clark, Vice Chair of the Charity Cup Committee and MECU Board Chairman. "What has made this event special over the years are the volunteers, sponsors, golfers, and supporters who continue to show up for Baltimore students and families. It's amazing to reflect on how much this event has grown and the many ways people have continued to support it."
This year's golf apparel is proudly sponsored by One South Street. Evan Kassem, Concierge and Tenant Relations Manager at One South Street, emphasized that the event is about more than just golf.
"It's exciting to be part of something that gives back to the Baltimore community in such a meaningful way," said Evan. "We are not just golfing for fun. We are helping create opportunities for students and families across the city. That is something worth supporting."
Last year's tournament welcomed 140 golfers and raised more than $75,000 for Baltimore-area education and financial literacy programs. This year, organizers are "fore" - casting to raise $100,000.
The MECU Foundation hopes that this year's event will bring together even more golfers, sponsors, and supporters to celebrate two decades of giving back to Baltimore students.
