On the occasion of our national holiday, President of Hungary Dr. Tamás Sulyok - on a recommendation by the Minister of Defence and with effect from 14 February 2026
- promoted Major General Sándor Fucsku, Hungary's former military attaché in Berlin, to the rank of Lieutenant General.
On the recommendation of the Minister of the Interior, on the occasion of our national holiday, with effect from 15 March 2026, the Head of State
- promoted Dr. Ferenc Tóth, Brigadier General of the Fire Service and National Chief Inspector of Civil Defence, to the rank of Major General of the Fire Service,
- Dr. Imre Papp, retired Police Colonel and former Chief of Police of Hajdú-Bihar County, was appointed to the rank of retired Police Brigadier General,
- Police Colonel Carmen Almagro, Deputy Chief of Economic Police at the Budapest Police Headquarters, was appointed to the rank of Police Brigadier General.
On the recommendation of the Minister of Defence, and to mark our national holiday, the President of Hungary, with effect from 15 March 2026,
- promoted Brigadier General Dr. László Drót, Commander of the Hungarian Defence Forces Territorial Defence and Reserve Command, to the rank of Major General,
- appointed Colonel Péter Zákány, Senior Military Advisor to the Ministry of Defence, to the rank of Brigadier General,
- Colonel József Zsolt Mogyorósi, Senior Military Advisor to the Ministry of Defence, was appointed to the rank of Brigadier General,
- Colonel Csaba Bodnár, Head of the General Staff Office of the Hungarian Defence Forces, was appointed to the rank of Brigadier General ( ),
- Colonel István Kása, Brigade Commander of the Hungarian Defence Forces' 51st József Nagysándor Signal and Command Support Brigade, was appointed to the rank of Brigadier General,
- Colonel Péter József Simon, Commander of the Hungarian Defence Forces Special Operations Command, was promoted to the rank of Brigadier General.
The Head of State congratulated the generals.
