Portage Lake Lift Bridge repairs Oct. 19-21
HOUGHTON, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will be performing repairs on the Portage Lake Lift Bridge between Houghton and Hancock from Monday, Oct. 19, through Wednesday, Oct. 21, requiring single-lane closures on the bridge.
Crews will be repairing non-structural damage to the bridge caused by high-load hits.
Motorists should expect single-lane closures of northbound M-26/US-41 each day until approximately 3 p.m.
These repairs will help ensure continued safe and reliable operation of the bridge.
