Minnetonka, Minn. - June 10, 2026 - Medica today announced the appointment of Lee Mills McGrath as Chief Health Officer, bringing deep expertise across payer and provider organizations to advance the company's commitment to high-quality, affordable, and equitable healthcare.

McGrath joins Medica with more than two decades of leadership experience in healthcare strategy, operations, and value-based care. Most recently, she served as a Senior Advisor at Deloitte, where she advised national health plans and provider systems on total cost of care strategies, clinical integration, and large-scale transformation initiatives.

Prior to Deloitte, McGrath held executive leadership roles at Premera Blue Cross, where she led Healthcare Services for a $9 billion portfolio serving more than two million members. During her tenure, she drove significant improvements in affordability and outcomes, including multi-year reductions in claims costs, expansion of value-based care programs, and the launch of advanced care management platforms leveraging predictive analytics and digital tools.

"Lee's experience across the healthcare ecosystem and her ability to translate complex strategy into measurable results make her an exceptional addition to our leadership team," said Lisa Erickson, President and CEO of Medica. "She brings a strong focus on improving outcomes for the people we serve while advancing affordability and innovation."

As Chief Health Officer, McGrath will lead Medica's efforts to further strengthen patient-centered, value-based care models; enhance provider collaboration; and advance health equity. Her work will focus on aligning clinical strategy, operational performance, and innovation to improve member outcomes and experiences.

"The healthcare industry is at a pivotal moment," said McGrath. "Addressing rising costs, workforce pressures, and disparities in care will require thoughtful collaboration with providers and a renewed focus on patient-centered solutions. I'm excited to join Medica and partner across the organization to deliver meaningful improvements in care and outcomes."

McGrath's career includes leadership roles at Health Care Service Corporation, Illinois Health Partners, DuPage Medical Group (now Duly Health and Care), and Humana, where she helped design and scale value-based care models, improve population health outcomes, and optimize healthcare delivery systems.

She holds a Master of Health Services Administration from the University of Michigan School of Public Health and a Bachelor of Arts in Management and Psychology from Washington University in St. Louis.
