The Employee Language Program (ELP) for spring quarter is now open for registration! See our offerings in Spanish, Mandarin, French and German below.

Open to all Western employees, these free workshops support faculty and staff through professional development and encourage multicultural outreach and awareness. Language learners of all levels are welcome. Descriptions available on the Program Page.

Spanish

  • Spanish: Conversation Partners

Hybrid. By Arrangement. For all levels. Four meetings per pair within the quarter.

  • Spanish: Drop-in Conversation Practice Sessions for all levels

Please register to show interest; facilitators will reach out to determine best schedules. Location TBD.

Mandarin Chinese

  • Mandarin: Conversation Partners

Hybrid. By Arrangement. For all Levels. One weekly session per pair between April 20 - May 29.

  • Mandarin: Calligraphy Lessons
  • April 17, 3 - 4 p.m., Miller Hall 123.
  • May 1, 3 - 4 p.m., Miller Hall 123.
  • May 15, 3 - 4 p.m., Miller Hall 123.
  • May 29, 3 - 4 p.m., Miller Hall 123.

French

  • French: Conversation Partners

Hybrid. By Arrangement. For all levels. Four meetings per pair within the quarter.
