Vindman Releases Statement on the Death of Alex Pretti

Washington, D.C. - U.S. Representative Eugene Vindman (Va.-07) today released the following statement on the murder of Alex Jeffrey Pretti by ICE agents in Minneapolis.

"I'm outraged. This weekend, the world watched in horror as federal ICE agents shot and killed Alex Pretti in Minneapolis. Video footage shows that as Mr. Pretti lay dying, an agent continued to barbarically unload his magazine into him.

"The American people are rightfully scared and angry.

"Mr. Pretti was an intensive care nurse at a veterans' hospital who dedicated his life to caring for those who served our country. I am disgusted that his life of service was cut short at the hands of our government. This is not what I served 25 years in uniform to defend.

"What we are seeing out of Minneapolis represents a breakdown of the rule of law. Pretti was lawfully exercising his constitutional rights when he was executed by ICE. President Trump and Secretary Noem must end this violent federal takeover of American cities before more people are hurt, and local law enforcement must immediately investigate this incident and hold those responsible accountable."
