The Bureau of the International Social Security Association (ISSA) has elected General Aminata Diallo, Director General of the National Social Insurance Fund (Caisse nationale de prévoyance sociale - CNPS) of Guinea, as Vice-President for the 2026-2028 triennium.
The election took place during the 133rd Meeting of the ISSA Bureau, held in Geneva, Switzerland, on 22 and 23 June 2026. In her acceptance speech, Ms Diallo expressed her profound gratitude for the confidence placed in her by the members of the Bureau and reaffirmed her commitment to serving the Association and its members in order to extend and strengthen social security around the world.
ISSA President Dr Mohammed Azman warmly congratulated Ms Diallo and emphasized that this election strengthens the leadership of the Association.
Ms Diallo described social security as an investment in human dignity and a promise that no one should be left without support in the face of life's challenges. She stressed the responsibility of social security institutions to respond to evolving social and economic realities while remaining faithful to the principles of solidarity and inclusion.
Looking to the future, Ms Diallo presented three ambitions for her mandate: to make social security an even stronger pillar of stability and social cohesion; to harness digital transformation to improve the quality, accessibility and efficiency of services; and to strengthen international and regional cooperation, notably through the sharing of experiences and good practices across the ISSA.
Reflecting on the role of the ISSA, Vice-President Diallo emphasized that, since its establishment in 1927, the Association has become the "home of social security" at the global level. She stressed the importance of listening and dialogue while highlighting the unique role of the ISSA in promoting innovation, cooperation and the sharing of experiences among its members.
In 2027, the ISSA will celebrate its Centenary, marking 100 years of commitment to excellence in social security administration and to strengthening social protection throughout the world.
