PRESS RELEASE BY THE MINISTRY FOR THE ENVIRONMENT, ENERGY, AND PUBLIC CLEANLINESS

The Ministry for the Environment, Energy, and Public Cleanliness refers to an update on the ARMS accounting system, a matter which ARMS has explained on multiple occasions is now resolved.

While ARMS has reconfirmed that the system is functioning correctly, the Minister for the Environment, Energy, and Public Cleanliness, Miriam Dalli, has asked the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry to promptly appoint an independent audit to establish all the facts and make the necessary recommendations.

Minister Miriam Dalli said, "This is the Government that reduced bills and maintained bill stability during international crises. This is the Government that has always supported people with energy prices. This is the Government that has strengthened the eco-contribution. In recent years, we have also addressed the anomalies left by the Nationalist Government in how bills were calculated. Similarly, we have continued to pay residents the Feed-in-Tariffs that expired under agreements handed during Nationalist Governments. This Government has consistently worked in favour of consumers and has left hundreds of millions of euros in people's pockets. This Government will continue to ensure that everyone continues to receive what is theirs."
