Summerfest Weekend 2 Recap

This past weekend, Summerfest returned to Milwaukee's lakefront for its second weekend, delivering three days of unforgettable performances led by headliners Ed Sheeran, Post Malone and Cody Johnson.

From singalongs to surprise moments, the festival continued its tradition as one of the world's most affordable and diverse independent music festivals, showcasing a genre-spanning lineup that included performances from Louis Tomlinson, Jessie Murph, Kim Gordon, The Marcus King Band, KALEO, Elderbrook, The Revivalists, Grouplove, Russell Dickerson, BØRNS, Tucker Wetmore and many more.

Highlights from the second weekend included:

  • Summerfest and official health care sponsor Aurora Health Care surprised blood cancer survivor and devoted Ed Sheeran fan Blake with the ultimate "Sheerio" experience on June 25, including a special meet-and-greet where he showed Sheeran the six album tattoos he has inked on his arms.
  • During "Congratulations," Post Malone jumped into the security pit to embrace a fan who had traveled from Denmark for their 28th Post Malone show, spending several minutes taking selfies, signing autographs, giving hugs and even handing one fan the shirt off his back on June 27.
  • Cody Johnson celebrated the release of his new album, Banks on the Trinity, with a headlining American Family Insurance Amphitheater performance on June 26, making Summerfest his first stop following the album's release and performing songs including "Trinity" and "Horseback," while Jessie Murph opened the show.
  • Louis Tomlinson had fans singing along to the One Direction fan-favorite "Night Changes" during his June 26 set on the North American leg of his How Did I Get Here? Tour.
  • Tucker Wetmore kicked off June 25 by fishing on Lake Michigan before taking the stage at Summerfest that night.
  • Halestorm joined School of Rock students at Summerfest, connecting with the next generation of musicians as more than 75 School of Rock bands from around the world performed June 25-26 across six festival stages throughout the event.
  • Big Daddy Kane paid a heartfelt tribute to late hip-hop icon Biz Markie during his June 26 performance.
  • Audrey Nuna made her Summerfest debut, performing at the festival for the first time ever and marking a standout moment in her live run.
  • GRAMMY-winning artist Booker T. Jones surprised fans with a rendition of Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On" during his June 27 set.
  • Summerfest celebrated Latin Music Day on June 27 with performances from Mariachi Sol de México and Junior Rivera, spotlighting the rich traditions and sounds of Latin music.

Summerfest now heads into its final weekend, July 2-4, with headliners including Muse, Alex Warren and Jelly Roll, and additional performances from Flo Rida, Ella Mai, Sean Paul, Whiskey Myers and hundreds more.

This coming weekend, Summerfest 2026 will also serve as an official America250 Block Party location, welcoming fans nationwide for its July 4 celebration presented by Harley-Davidson, alongside a coast-to-coast fireworks display honoring America250. For more information, visit summerfest.com.
