Rabies Vaccine Clinic

Please PAWS to PREVENT Rabies

Vaccinating pets, like dogs, cats, and ferrets, is one of the best ways to prevent people from getting rabies. It is also required by law in New York State. Our department helps prevent the spread of rabies by providing no-cost public Rabies Clinics each year.

The next rabies vaccine clinic for cats, dogs, and ferrets is:

  • Date: Saturday, November 8
  • Time: 10 AM - 11:30 AM
  • Location: Monterey Fire Department in Monterey, NY (1465 South St, Beaver Dams, NY)
  • Walk in or register in advance!
  • Rabies Clinic Registration Directions:
    • You can register in advance of the clinic to save time in line, but it is not required to attend. Walk ins are welcome.
    • Fill in the Rabies Clinic Registration Form below. Complete the form by the deadline listed.
    • Fill out the owner contact information and pet information in the certificate form located in the link below.
    • Please remember to complete a new form for each pet that you are bringing to the clinic.

    • Registration Deadline is 4 PM on 11/5/2025
    • We will print the certificate for you and provide it to you at the clinic.

For our clinics:

  • Please bring proof of any prior rabies shots.
    • For cats and dogs: their first rabies vaccine will be a one-year vaccine. All vaccines after that will be three-year vaccines, as long as proof of prior rabies shot is provided.
    • For ferrets: vaccination is required every year.
  • Animals must be at least 3 months of age.
  • All cats and ferrets must be securely confined in a pet carrier. One pet per carrier.
  • All dogs must be on a leash or securely confined.
  • Please only bring as many animals to the clinic as you are able to control. All pets must be accompanied by a responsible adult who is able to hold the pet during vaccination.

Vaccination is provided at no cost. Donations are appreciated.
