Apeiron Ventures invests in French Alta Ares: Artificial Intelligence and Computer Vision in the Defense Industry

Apeiron Ventures participated in the investment round alongside French defense tech funds Expansion Aerospace Ventures, Starburst Ventures, as well as Kima Ventures.Apeiron Ventures announces its participation in the first funding round of French startup Alta Ares, which raised a total of €2 million (pre-seed).

Alta Ares has developed advanced artificial intelligence (AI) solutions for drones, enabling real-time video analysis and processing directly on the vehicle, without requiring network or cloud connectivity.

The company's technology has been successfully tested in real-world conditions in Ukraine, providing critical operational intelligence and situational awareness. Alta Ares recently won the NATO Innovation Challenge 2025 with its solution for detecting and neutralizing glide bombs, validating the effectiveness and innovation of its technology.

As part of this investment, Alta Ares is expanding its operations to Greece by opening a new office in Athens. This move aims to strengthen the company's research and development (R&D) as well as its commercial presence in the region.
