Governor Ayotte Highlights Housing Wins for New Hampshire at Housing & Economy Conference

CONCORD, NH - Today, Governor Kelly Ayotte attended the 2025 Housing & Economy Conference, hosted by New Hampshire Housing, to highlight wins from this year's legislative session. The annual event brings together policymakers, industry leaders, and community partners to discuss innovative solutions for expanding housing access and strengthening New Hampshire's economy.

"Tackling our housing crisis is essential to keeping New Hampshire an economic beacon for the nation," said Governor Ayotte. "From overhauling our state's permitting process to cutting red tape and ensuring consistency across our building codes, we made great strides this year thanks to the efforts of the Legislature, our state and local leaders, and private sector partners. I'm focused on ensuring these reforms are implemented successfully so that every family, young professional, and senior has access to attainable, affordable housing right here in New Hampshire."

"We were excited to welcome the Governor to our Housing & the Economy Conference," added Rob Dapice, Executive Director of New Hampshire Housing. "Governor Ayotte understands the importance of bringing down housing costs in order to protect and maintain the New Hampshire advantage, and she led the effort to streamline the state permitting process in the last legislative session. We look forward to working with her and stakeholders from across the state to build on this progress and ensure New Hampshire remains a place of opportunity and abundance."

Governor Ayotte made housing a top priority in her first year in office, leading the effort to streamline the state's permitting process to cut red tape and reduce the time it takes to build new housing. She also signed a package of bipartisan housing bills that modernized zoning laws, expanded accessory dwelling units (ADUs), and reduced outdated parking and height restrictions that drive up construction costs.
