Apply Now: Serve as a Food Vendor at Alexandria’s 2026 Special Events

The City of Alexandria is officially seeking qualified food vendors to bring high-quality culinary experiences to our live, in-person events throughout 2026. If you have experience serving at large outdoor events and a clean licensing record, we want to hear from you. Please review the full guidelines on how to apply.

Key Selection Criteria

To ensure a diverse and high-quality experience for attendees, vendors will be selected based on:

• Excellence: A high standard of food quality is our top priority.
• Locality: Preference is given to vendors based in Alexandria or the greater DMV area.
• Experience: Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale outdoor event service.
• Compliance: Vendors must have no history of permit or license violations.

Vendor Requirements and Fees

Selected vendors are guaranteed a slot at one Signature Event and at least one Community Event.

• Vendor Fee: $500.
• Tent Rental: $185 for a 10x10 tent (if requested).
• Licensing: Must be fully licensed to vend in the City of Alexandria and pass all required inspections.
• Equipment: Vendors must provide all of their own equipment.

Scheduling and Weather

All vendors will have the option to apply again for the following year, regardless if they are selected. However, if a vendor is selected for this year and fails to attend a selected Special Event (Signature or Community Event), the vendor will incur a $200 penalty and will be unable to apply for selection in the following year. The event is rain or shine, unless prior updates confirmed by the Special Events staff liaison.
