Among the Best: TLU’s Erica Miller Earns Nationally Recognized Financial Aid Administrator Certification

Erica Miller, Director of Financial Aid at Texas Lutheran University, has earned her Financial Aid Administrator Certification from the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators' accredited Certified Financial Aid Administrator Program.

In order to join the ranks of an elite group of more than 300 other financial aid professionals who earned the FAAC designation, Miller had to successfully pass a comprehensive knowledge exam and affirm her commitment to the standards of ethical behavior that have long been a hallmark of the financial aid profession.

"I love to learn and challenge myself!" Miller said. "Obtaining this certification demonstrates my commitment to our students, colleagues, and institution. It validates my knowledge, skills, and expertise in financial aid, providing a source of confidence for the people I work with each and every day."

"We are incredibly proud of Erica in earning the FAAC designation," said TLU Vice President for Finance Edie Richardson. "This further exemplifies her professional dedication and commitment to excellence in serving our students and families. We are so thankful that Erica is part of the Texas Lutheran Student Financial Services team.

The CFAA Program is a first-in-the-industry effort launched in 2019 that validates the skills and knowledge of financial aid professionals at postsecondary institutions nationwide. The NASFAA is a nonprofit membership organization that represents more than 29,000 financial aid professionals at approximately 3,000 colleges, universities, and career schools across the country. It is the only national association with a primary focus on student aid legislation, regulatory analysis, and training for financial aid administrators.

"Financial aid administrators are full-time multi-taskers. They are stewards of program integrity and architects of opportunity while managing institutional demands and complex regulations in an ever-changing professional landscape," said Melanie Storey, NASFAA President & CEO. "The FAAC designation underscores a financial aid administrator's professional dedication to these critical responsibilities and their unwavering commitment to the highest ethical standards."

Miller holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from University of the Southwest, Master of Business Administration from Keller Graduate School of Management and is expected to graduate with her Doctor of Education from Texas Lutheran University in May 2026. She received the Distinguished Staff Award in 2024 from TLU, where she has served as the Director of Financial Aid since 2018.
