Rep. Manning Announces $69,817 in State Funding for South Elyria Pocket Park Improvements

ELYRIA, OH - State Representative Gayle Manning (R-Avon) is excited to announce the City of Elyria has been awarded $69,817.00 through the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) NatureWorks Grant Program.

The funding will be used to enhance the South Elyria Pocket Park with a new entry arch and signage, concrete hardscape, lighting improvements, and the installation of bench swings.

"These funds will make a real difference for South Elyria by creating a more welcoming and enjoyable space for families, neighbors, and visitors. Investments like this not only enhance our parks but also strengthen community pride and encourage people to spend more time outdoors together," said Rep. Manning.

The Ohio Controlling Board approved the release of capital funds as part of Round 31 of the NatureWorks grant program.

The planned improvements will create a more inviting entrance to the park, provide modern amenities, and support Elyria's continued focus on community development and outdoor recreation.
