Young artists across the City of Karratha and surrounding regional towns are invited to get creative for the 2026 Cossack Children's Art Awards.
The theme for this year's awards Joys of a Pilbara Summer, encourages children to capture the colours, energy and spirit of our region during the summer months.
Entries for this year's awards will open 10am Tuesday 24 March with three categories 5-8 years, 9-11 years, and 12-15 years of age.
Category winners will win a $100 prize, with $50 for Highly Commended, and the Overall Winner will receive a prize of $300 plus 50% off framing at Dunnart.
Winners will be selected by the esteemed judging panel and announced at the Fortescue Children's Day event on Sunday 9 August at 12pm.
City of Karratha Mayor Daniel Scott said the awards are a fantastic way to celebrate the artistic talents of local children.
"The Cossack Children's Art Awards give young people the chance to express their creativity and connect with our region through art," Mayor Scott said.
"I can't wait to see how our local kids interpret the joys of a Pilbara summer, and I encourage all local children to pick up their canvas and get creative."
The Cossack Art Awards are presented by the City of Karratha with principal partner Rio Tinto.
