WASHINGTON, DC - Congressman Eric Sorensen (IL-17) is helping to lead the fight to crack down on elected officials and federal employees using privileged information to make money by betting in prediction markets. Congressman Sorensen joined House Agriculture Committee Ranking Member Congresswoman Angie Craig (MN-02) and Senators Amy Klobuchar, Elizabeth Warren, and Jeff Merkley in demanding answers from the Trump Administration about how it is enforcing laws against insider trading.

"Right now, we are seeing people make fortunes after making suspicious trades based on information that was not available to the public. Federal employees are public servants who should be focused on delivering for the American people, not using privileged information to line their own pockets. My neighbors trusted me for over two decades to tell them the weather, and they sent me to Congress to help rebuild that trust between Washington and the American people," said Congressman Eric Sorensen.
