WASHINGTON - Yesterday, Representative Ronny Jackson (TX-13) joined the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on the Middle East and North Africa for a hearing on the growing threat posed by the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist organization in the Red Sea to American national security, economic interests, and freedom of navigation.
"The Red Sea is vital to global commerce and American security, and when Iranian-backed terrorists like the Houthis threaten this critical waterway, they threaten our interests," said Rep. Jackson. "President Trump has made clear that attacks on American personnel, ships, or economic interests will be met with major military consequences. Today, we must identify the tools, authorities, partnerships, and strategies necessary to deter Houthi aggression and protect freedom of navigation."
