MoDOT to close one eastbound Interstate 70 lane at Wentzville Parkway Oct. 24-26

ST. CHARLES COUNTY - Crews with the Improve I-70 Warrenton to Wentzville Project will close the right lane of eastbound Interstate 70 between Wentzville Parkway and Route Z starting at 9 p.m. Friday, October 24. The lane is expected to reopen by 9 a.m. Sunday, October 26. All work is weather permitting.

The eastbound I-70 right lane closure is required so crews can construct drainage work for the construction of a temporary railroad bridge at the curve on I-70 between Wentzville Parkway and Route Z. The interstate is being realigned on I-70 at the railroad bridge. A permanent railroad bridge will be constructed as part of the realignment of the interstate.

This work is part of the Improve I-70 Warrenton to Wentzville Project covering the eastern portion of I-70. It was awarded in November 2024. Construction is set to continue through 2028.

Missouri's FY2024 budget, approved through the state legislative process and signed into law by the governor, provides $2.8 billion in General Revenue to build a third lane of I-70 across the state. The program will plan, design, construct, reconstruct, rehabilitate, and add a third lane in each direction on nearly 200 miles of I-70, from Blue Springs to Wentzville.
