No: 60, 4 April 2026, Regarding 4 April, the International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action

4 April, the "International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action", designated by the United Nations General Assembly, draws attention to the danger posed by mines and unexploded ordnance.

Mines and unexploded ordnance threaten civilian lives for many years even after conflicts end.

As a country providing significant and tangible contributions to combating both land and sea mines regionally and globally, Türkiye continues to effectively support international cooperation mechanisms within the framework of the Ottawa Convention on the Prohibition of the Use, Stockpiling, Production and Transfer of Anti-Personnel Mines and on their Destruction, to which it is a party, through the Turkish National Mine Action Center.

Türkiye will resolutely continue to fulfill its responsibilities at both the regional and global levels, guided by a humanitarian approach, in its efforts to combat the mine threat.
