The Boise State University College of Engineering is pleased to announce the appointment of Kristina Martin as the new Director of Personnel and Administration.
Kristina MartinIn this role, Martin will work closely with Dean Amy Fleischer and college leadership to strengthen collaboration between the dean's office and the college's schools and departments. She will oversee key personnel and administrative functions, including performance management, faculty and staff recruitment, onboarding, professional development, and human resources consultation.
Martin brings more than a decade of experience in higher education operations and leadership, most recently serving as department manager for the Department of Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering. In that role, she led all HR and administrative systems for more than 20 faculty and staff, guiding processes related to hiring, promotion and tenure, sabbaticals and performance management. She developed a streamlined onboarding system now used across the college and for creating faculty hiring tools that have been adopted university-wide by Human Resources.

In this role, Martin will focus on building stronger communication and partnerships between departments and the dean's office, ensuring administrative processes are clear, consistent and accessible. She also aims to simplify complex HR and personnel procedures, helping department leaders and managers navigate university systems with greater ease.
A key part of her role will be enhancing staff onboarding and professional development opportunities across the college. Martin plans to expand training resources, strengthen performance management frameworks, and create growth pathways that help employees reach their full potential.
Martin earned her Master of Education in Educational Leadership and her Bachelor of Arts in Multidisciplinary Studies with a minor in Psychology and certificates in Conflict Management, Leadership, and Human Relations from Boise State University.
