Minister Calleary launches National Hub Network Strategy at Hub Summit

Minister for Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, Dara Calleary TD, has today (Thursday, 22 October) launched the National Hub Network Strategy, setting out an ambitious vision for the future development of Ireland's hub network.

Developed in partnership with the Department of Enterprise Tourism and Employment and the Western Development Commission, the strategy sets out 36 measures to build on existing investment in Ireland's hub infrastructure, create more opportunities for people to work closer to home, expand access to digital services in rural communities and support entrepreneurs and small businesses to establish and grow.

Together, these measures aim to strengthen local economies and ensure that hubs continue to play an important role in the development of vibrant, sustainable communities across Ireland.

Speaking at the Hub Summit, Minister Calleary said:

"We have witnessed significant changes in recent years in how and where people work, driven by advances in digital connectivity and the growth of remote and hybrid working. Hubs have played an important role in responding to these changes, creating new opportunities for people, businesses and communities across Ireland.
