FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The City of Irvine, in partnership with the South Coast Chinese Cultural Center, will host the fifth annual Mid-Autumn Festival at Great Park Friday, September 26, from 5 to 9:30 p.m. This free, family-friendly event invites the community to enjoy an evening filled with rich cultural traditions, festive performances, and interactive activities.
The Mid-Autumn Festival - also known as the Moon Festival or Mooncake Festival - is one of the most celebrated holidays across Asia, with roots in China and similar traditions in Japan, Korea, Vietnam, and other countries in East and Southeast Asia. Dating back over 3,000 years, the festival has long symbolized unity, gratitude, and prosperity.
This year's celebration will feature live music and dance performances, cultural demonstrations, hands-on children's activities, and engaging exhibits. Guests can explore a variety of savory meals and sweet treats, while discovering the artistry, stories, and traditions that make the Mid-Autumn Festival such a meaningful holiday for many communities.
The City of Irvine thanks its generous sponsors for their support of this year's festival:
These partnerships help make this celebration of tradition, culture, and community possible.
Admission is free and open to all ages.
