Shepherd University faculty and staff gathered on Wednesday, April 29 for the annual Employee Service Recognition Luncheon, an event that honored retiring faculty and staff members and recognized employees celebrating service milestones.
Shepherd University Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Jack DeRochi said the longevity of employees at the University enriches its shared history.
"You've created a culture here, one that we are so proud of and that provides valuable continuity to our entire faculty and staff and our entire community," said DeRochi. "Thank you for all you do for our students and for our colleagues."
Director of Human Resources and Chief Human Resources Officer Tammy Gill announced nine retirements, sharing presidential proclamations from Shepherd University President Dr. Mary J.C. Hendrix.

Following the retiree recognition, 38 individuals were honored for milestone service anniversaries, ranging from five to 40 years.
The luncheon takes place each spring.
