July 16, 2026 - GRAMMY-nominated British multi-instrumentalist, producer, and singer-songwriter Elderbrook has released his new single "Staring at the Sun," in collaboration with UK electronic artist Rules. The track showcases Elderbrook's signature ability to pair poignant songwriting and powerful vocals with expansive electronic production, with Rules' warm, ethereal soundscapes helping shape the track's rich sonic backdrop. Written and produced by Elderbrook alongside Rules, "Staring at the Sun" captures a sense of longing, reflection, and rediscovery, exploring the memories and experiences that shape who we become.
At its core, "Staring at the Sun" is a meditation on reconnecting with the person you once were. Through his powerful lyrics and distinctive vocal performance, Elderbrook reflects on the feeling of looking back on a younger version of yourself, revisiting the curiosity, inspiration, and sense of possibility that once felt endless.
Speaking more on the song, Elderbrook shares: "For me, 'Staring at the Sun' is less about the light and more about the memory of it, the feeling of being young, when the world seemed endless and inspiration lived in the smallest moments. As we grow older, we spend so much time becoming someone new that we forget to revisit who we once were. We owe it to ourselves to reconnect with that younger self, because they still hold the parts of us we've been searching for all along."
Accompanying the release is an official music video that complements the song's themes of memory, self-reflection, and reconnecting with one's younger self through striking, cinematic visuals.

The single follows "Is It Over Now?," a reflective exploration of creative uncertainty and the search for renewed inspiration. Together, these new songs highlight his continued evolution as an artist, pairing thoughtful songwriting with expansive electronic production that has become a signature of his sound.
Since breaking through globally in 2017 with the GRAMMY-nominated hit "Cola," Elderbrook has evolved into one of electronic music's most respected artists, amassing over 2 billion global streams and releasing critically acclaimed albums including Why Do We Shake in the Cold?
