Norton Rose Fulbright represented Heelstone Renewable Energy, a subsidiary of Qualitas Energy, in obtaining a US$200 million senior secured corporate credit facility to fund the company's expanding portfolio of renewable energy projects across the United States.
The deal, which was announced on January 14, 2026, will accelerate Heelstone's transition into a fully integrated independent power producer. Proceeds will be used for project expenses such as interconnection deposits, power purchase agreements and project financings. This includes initiatives related to Heelstone's Alligator Creek Solar project, a 600-acre solar farm in Wheeler County, Georgia with an estimated production capacity of approximately 80 MW.
Heelstone has a diversified portfolio of more than 5 GW of solar, wind and battery energy storage system assets throughout the country and plans to deploy more than 1 GW of projects by the end of 2028. More than 600 MWac of this capacity is expected to be contracted and under construction within one year.
