The Greensboro Parks and Recreation hosts a series of Halloween events throughout the month October starting Sunday, October 5. All events are free and open to the public, though some events require registration.
SCHEDULE
Pumpkin Paint Party Sunday, October 5 | 1-3 pm | Morehead Park Trailhead, 475 Spring Garden St. All ages are welcome to decorate a pumpkin masterpiece and take it home. Sip on warm apple cider or hot chocolate, indulge in sweet cookies, and enjoy the festivities with family and friends. Register at: https://tinyurl.com/DGPaintParty.
Creepy Creations Tuesday, October 7 | 5:30-6:30 pm | Woven Works Park, 401 Cumberland St. The Parks and Recreation Department, in collaboration with the City's Solid & Waste Recycling Department, invites participants to create do-it-yourself monsters made from non-recyclable materials. Halloween Extravaganza
Saturday, October 18 | 7-9:30 pm | Hester Park, 3615 Deutzia St.
Visitors can enjoy spooky trails, bon fires, yard games, music, crafts, and more.
GYC's Ghoulash
Saturday, October 25 | 2:30-5:30 pm | Center City Park, LeBauer Park, and Greensboro Cultural Center, 200 N. Davie St.
This downtown Halloween event for families will feature candy, games, a costume contest, and more. Hosted by the Greensboro Youth Council (GYC) and Greensboro Downtown Parks.
Howl-o-ween
Sunday, October 26 | 1-4 pm | Country Park, 3905 Nathanael Greene Dr.
Participants, and their dogs, are asked to dress in their best costumes and join the Parks and Recreation Department and Guilford County Animal Resources for this trick-or-treat event. There will be treats for both dogs and humans, treats.
Trunk or Treat
Friday, October 31 | 6:30-8:30 pm | Craft Recreation Center, 3911 Yanceyville St.
Children 12-and-under, and their parents, are encouraged to visit Craft Recreation Center for treats, as well as for games and prizes.
Pumpkin Smash
Saturday, November 1 | 10 am to noon | Lake Brandt Marina, 5945 Lake Brandt Rd.
Participants are invited to dispose of their old pumpkins in a variety of ways - including by way of a giant slingshot and sledgehammers.
