Announcement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the repatriation of Greeks from the Middle East (08.03.2026)

Under the coordination of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, operations for the safe repatriation of Greek citizens and their family members were successfully completed yesterday, Saturday, March 7.

Specifically:

  • 90 Greek citizens and their family members who were in Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain arrived in Athens from Dammam, Saudi Arabia, on a C-130 flight of the Hellenic Air Force, coordinated by the Embassies of Greece in Riyadh, Kuwait and Doha.
  • 448 Greek citizens and their family members arrived in Athens from Dubai, on a special flight operated by Emirates Airlines, coordinated by our Embassy in Abu Dhabi.

Repatriation operations will continue in the coming days. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs remains on full alert in order to provide all possible assistance to Greek citizens affected by the armed conflict in the wider Middle East.
