Guilford Metro 9-1-1 recently received its Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials-International (APCO) Training Program Accreditation.
The program, an initiative of Project 33 (which established the National Public Safety Telecommunicator Training Standard), provides a way for public safety agencies to have their training programs accredited to meet APCO American National Standards (ANS). Each agency's curriculum, training materials, and supporting documentation is evaluated for compliance. Agency Training Program Accreditation is valid for three years.
Agencies that earn accreditation, such as Guilford Metro 9-1-1, will be recognized at the upcoming APCO Conference.
"I am very proud of our training team that manages this process, as well as our emergency communications division personnel, who are always working to be the best center in our industry," said Melanie Jones, the executive director for Guilford Metro 9-1-1.
