People Powers Award: Andy Beck

Congratulations to Dispatcher Andy Beck for earning the July People Powers Award. Andy was nominated by Manager, System Operations Center Eric Hammes for the People Power - Safety First.

In his nomination, Eric recognized Andy for demonstrating a strong Safety First mindset during a transmission outage response. After reports indicated a person may still have been in a tractor that had contacted a transmission line, Andy relied on Human Performance tools to reassess the situation and adjust restoration efforts. "Andy stopped, asked questions, consulted others and took control of the situation," Eric shared. Although the more cautious approach added time to the restoration effort, Andy understood that "Safety was the top priority."
