The Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares, has received his Andorran counterpart, Imma Tor, with whom he renewed Spain's support for Andorra's rapprochement with the European Union in the context of the desire to modernise the Andorran economic model and adapt its foreigners' regime to EU rules.

During the meeting, the two ministers took stock of the good relationship that exists between Spain and Andorra, which spans several levels and which became evident in crisis situations such as that caused by the fires last summer or, more recently, the sending of technicians to control swine fever.

There is also a good working atmosphere between the EU and Andorra, which helped Albares and Tor to review the dossiers of greatest interest to both countries, including the progress of the bilateral working group on migration issues; the prospects for the Association Agreement and the Border Management Agreement between the EU and Andorra; cross-border cooperation and the entry into application of the 'Entry Exit System' (EES).

In foreign policy, Spain and Andorra share very similar views on global issues, including Russia/Ukraine or multilateralism, as well as the recognition of Palestine that it adopted in September 2025.
