Congressman Harris Tours Army Corps Dredging Operations at Ocean City Inlet

Washington, D.C. - Today, Congressman Andy Harris, M.D. (MD-01), toured the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Murden dredging operations at the Ocean City Inlet as crews continue maintenance dredging ahead of the White Marlin Open.

The project will remove accumulated sediment from the inlet to improve navigation for commercial and recreational vessels during one of the Eastern Shore's busiest boating seasons.

Statement from Congressman Harris:

"Touring the Murden gave me a firsthand look at the work required to keep the Ocean City Inlet navigable. Keeping this federal channel open allows commercial fishing vessels, charter boats, and recreational boaters to safely enter and leave the inlet. I'm glad to have been able to arrange this timely dredge as well as the funding for construction of a much-needed second U.S. Army Corps of Engineers shallow dredge."
