Governor Gianforte Solicits Applications for Public Service Commission Appointment

HELENA, Mont. - Governor Greg Gianforte today announced he is soliciting applications for a temporary appointment to the Public Service Commission (PSC).

Under the statutory authority granted by MCA 69-1-113, Gov. Gianforte on July 9, 2026, temporarily suspended a member of the PSC for one year. According to Montana law, the governor has the ability to appoint a temporary replacement.

Qualified candidates for the appointment must reside in PSC District 2 and submit a complete application. The individual appointed by Governor Gianforte will serve until July 9, 2027.

The application form is available electronically at governor.mt.gov/PSCappointment . Applications must be submitted electronically by Wednesday, August 5, 2026. Applications will be made available to the public.

Commencing Thursday, August 6 and continuing through Thursday, August 20, 2026, the public will be given the opportunity to provide letters of support or other comments regarding the applicants at governor.mt.gov/PSCappointment .
