Pointe-Claire blue-collar workers vote to strike

[Link] Last night, the blue-collar workers at the Ville de Pointe-Claire, represented by the Syndicat des cols bleus regroupés de la Ville de Montréal (CUPE 301), voted 100% in favour of pressure tactics up to and including an unlimited general strike.

"We've seen this in several cities on the Island of Montreal," said Jean-Pierre Lauzon, President of CUPE 301. "By voting for pressure tactics, blue-collar workers clearly stand by their bargaining committee. Mobilization will help us to move discussions forward and reach an agreement. I'd like to thank our members for their support and trust."

The last collective agreement of the 160 blue-collar workers at the Ville de Pointe-Claire expired on December 31, 2023.
