His culinary journey began in Flint, Michigan, where he developed a passion for cooking alongside his Greek grandmother, Ester. This early exposure led him to pursue formal training at the Scottsdale Culinary Institute at Le Cordon Bleu, from which he graduated with honors.

Throughout his career, Smith has progressed from entry-level positions to leadership roles, gaining expertise in various cuisines and culinary styles. His philosophy emphasizes that exceptional food encompasses not only taste but also the overall dining experience.
