Frostburg State University Announces Spring 2026 Senior Exhibition Lumina

The Department of Visual Arts at Frostburg State University is pleased to announce the opening of its Spring 2026 senior exhibition, Lumina. The exhibition will open on Saturday, May 9, with a reception from 2-4 p. in the StephanieAnn Roper Gallery. The exhibition will remain on view through Friday, May 15. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Lumina showcases the work of graduating seniors in the Art and Design program, highlighting a diverse range of media and creative perspectives.

Ava Breighner will graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art and Design, with dual concentrations in painting and photography, and minors in art history and theatre. She serves as the co-chair of the Artistic Committee for the C. William Gilchrist Museum of the Arts and plans to pursue graduate study and internships in museum curation and conservation. Breighner is currently accepting portrait commissions.

Mary Greco, a student-athlete and member of the university's women's soccer team, will earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art and Design with a dual focus in illustration and painting, along with a minor in art history. Following graduation, she plans to expand her clothing brand while establishing her professional career. Greco is committed to giving back to her community, particularly by supporting disadvantaged young artists and athletes.

Odessa Matz will graduate with dual degrees - a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in ceramics and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology. She intends to continue her education by pursuing a master's degree in either fine arts or art therapy.

Gracelyn Moore will earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts with dual concentrations in graphic design and ceramics. She plans to continue her education at FSU in the Master of Arts in Teaching program, with the goal of becoming an art educator.

Emilia Smith, a transfer student from Potomac State College of WVU, previously earned an associate degree in secondary education with a concentration in history. She will graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art and Design, focusing on ceramics and painting. After graduation, Smith plans to teach art, coach volleyball, build her professional portfolio and pursue commission-based work.

Alayna Weeks, a transfer student from Garrett College, earned an Associate of Arts in general studies prior to enrolling at FSU. She will graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art and Design, with focus areas in graphic design and photography, and a minor in art history. Weeks aims to begin a career in graphic design while continuing to explore her creative practice.
