USDA Rural Development Announces $39.9 Million Community Facilities Direct Loan for Wallenpaupack Area School District

(Hawley, Penn., October X, 2026) - The U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development announced $39.9 million in Community Facilities Direct Loan funding to build a 71,035 square-foot career and technical education center for the Wallenpaupack Area School District in northeastern Pennsylvania.

The new facility will provide expanded educational opportunities for students and serve residents across Wayne and Pike counties.

"Under the leadership of President Trump and Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins, USDA Rural Development delivers investments that bring renewed prosperity and opportunity to rural Pennsylvania," said Rural Housing Service Administrator George Kelly.

USDA Rural Development administers this funding through the Community Facilities Direct Loan Program , which provides affordable financing to develop essential community facilities in rural areas.
