SACRAMENTO, Calif. - CalPERS today announced unofficial winners for three seats on its Board of Administration representing state, school, and public agency members.
As the nominees are unopposed for the three board positions up for election, all have been declared unofficial winners including:
All three nominees submitted required materials by the May 14 deadline to meet qualifications for candidacy.
Cecelia Wilson will be serving in her first term on the CalPERS Board as the state member representative. She currently works for the California Department of Education as an Information Technology Professional and has more than 36 years of CalPERS-covered service.
Kevin Palkki, the incumbent representative for school members, will be serving in his second term. Palkki is currently employed with the San Bernardino Community College District as a Senior Theater Arts Technical Support Specialist and has more than 21 years of CalPERS-covered service.
Mullissa Willette, the incumbent representative for public agency members, will also be serving in her second term, which started in 2022 after the 2021 Special Public Agency Member Board Election. Mullissa is currently an Estate Administrator with the County of Santa Clara and has more than 14 years of CalPERS-covered service.
These results will be made official upon certification by the Secretary of State. The term of office for these positions begins January 16, 2027, and expires on January 15, 2031.
The 13-member CalPERS Board of Administration is the governing body responsible for overseeing the approximately $600 billion CalPERS pension fund on behalf of its 2.4 million members. It also supervises the delivery of healthcare to 1.5 million public employees, retirees, and their families.
CalPERS is the largest defined-benefit public pension in the U.S., with 2.4 million members. Since 1932, CalPERS has provided retirement security for state, school, and public agency employees who invest their life's work in public service. In 1962, CalPERS expanded its services to include health benefits and now offers quality health plan coverage for more than 1.5 million members and their families.
